What furniture disassembly and reassembly means

Furniture disassembly and reassembly is a specialty service that takes beds, desks, wall units and gym equipment apart before a move and rebuilds them after. Alliance is a third-party company. Moving and relocation companies book the work for the families they move, and families can request a quote directly. We work across the United States and Canada.

Every technician is insured and has passed a background check. Alliance works only with top rated providers who pass regular performance evaluations. Wood is the item most often damaged in a move. It dents easily and is hard to fix. A trained tech tracks every drawer, glass panel and handle, then bags and labels hardware piece by piece so nothing gets lost or mismatched at the new home.

Every order gets one named coordinator, and you can track status and arrival times in the online customer portal. Most estimates come back within minutes. Larger or unusual jobs can take up to one business day. An estimate is free, and the price depends on the pieces, the services and the distance.

How the job runs

  1. Take apart

At origin, our tech breaks each piece down to the largest safe sections.

  2. Bag and label

Hardware goes into labeled bags so nothing gets lost.

  3. Move

Your moving company loads and drives the truck.

  4. Rebuild

Furniture and beds

What furniture do you disassemble and reassemble?

We take apart beds, cribs, desks, wall units, water beds, gym equipment and swing sets, among others.

Do you reassemble furniture at the destination?

Yes. We rebuild the same pieces at the new home using the labeled hardware.

What happens to the hardware during disassembly?

We bag and label each piece so it goes back into the right spot at destination.

Why hire a pro for high-end wood furniture?

Skilled technicians wrap each piece and track every drawer, glass panel and handle so nothing gets lost or damaged.

Gym and outdoor items

Do you take apart pool tables?

Yes. A composite table usually needs only its legs removed or folded. For a slate table, we remove and pack the felt, mark it for the destination technician, box and label hardware, and crate the slates. At destination we level it with an electronic level and reinstall felt that lasts 3 to 4 moves.

Do you move ellipticals and home gyms?

Yes. The technician removes the arms, detaches the weights, handles cables with care, and wraps the parts together. At destination we rebuild the machine to its make and model's directions, in the spot you choose.

Can you take apart a swing set that's set in concrete?

Yes, though it takes extra time and materials. The destination site must be level. Landscaping isn't included.

What if swing set hardware is rusted?

Metal swing sets can have rusted hardware, and wood sets can have swollen or split lumber. We replace some hardware free on a limited basis for safety. Lost hardware and replaced lumber are charged, and cost depends on the size and design of the set.
